After walking through several rooms of abstract impressionism:

Annabelle :: Momma? Can I ask you something?

Me :: Of course. 

Annabelle :: I feel like after looking at that, I don't know what an artist is. 

(long pause)

Me :: I don't either. 

Annabelle :: (takes my hand) Sigh.
