I don't have a lot of pictures of last weekend to share - both Dave and I were gone at separate conferences. My folks came to hang out with Annabelle for a few days. Of course we had a count down for weeks, and Annabelle's excitement for their visit was palpable. Every time I told her "No" to something, she affirmed that, "GRAMA WOULD SAY YES!" Fine, then you'll have to wait until she gets here.
(I actually love that, the specialness of grandparents is so important... I remember it vividly from my childhood.)
Annabelle is teaching my mom how to model beeswax.
The biggest surprises came when I returned home and learned Annabelle had her first loose tooth! And she had learned to jump rope in just a couple days!
I was so impressed I sat down to email a friend with the news. Annabelle walked into the kitchen while I was typing, put her partially finished snack on a plate, took out the saran wrap, covered it, and put it in the fridge. I was agog and stunned.
She seemed to grow up so much while I was gone. It was just one of those moments when you feel like such a parent - proud of your child, bragging to everyone about her accomplishments, wondering why nobody else wants to join the parade.
